“To whom much is given much is expected.”
– Rose Kennedy
At Sheptin Tutoring Group, we wholeheartedly stand by this golden rule.
After I watched an impactful video about the constrained lives of Orthodox Jews, I decided to volunteer for Footsteps, an organization that helps those who wish to further their education, given the fact that the secular education received does not go beyond fourth grade. Yeshiva diplomas are not recognized as valid, so the GED must be taken. To date, I have helped two students receive their GEDs, one of whom is presently in the Army Reserves. I also worked with one student prepare for the GMATs, attempting to get her Masters Degree as a Nurse Anesthetist.
For the past three summers, Sheptin Tutoring Group has partnered with the Chappaqua Summer Scholarship Program (CSSP), which provides academically motivated students from under-resourced New York City high schools with a three-year summer program of enriched academic and cultural activities. We have offered a multi-week SAT course to these students, including all materials. Imagine our joy when we learn that our students receive full academic scholarships to schools like Middlebury College, Lafayette College, and Howard University – and they’re thriving!
We routinely offer free tutoring hours to school fundraisers and auctions. In 2018 and 2019, we have donated packages to the following schools:
Bronx High School of Science
Ramaz School
Beacon High School
East Side Middle School
Chappaqua Schools Foundation
MS 54 Manhattan
The Windward School
Eleanor Roosevelt High School
Temple Bet Torah
In addition, we readily sponsor sports teams and extracurricular activities at local schools. Please contact Sheptin Tutoring Group at 914-232-3743 and let us know how we can work with your school or organization.
